Workit is a South African marketplace for everyday jobs. Gardening, cleaning, trades, deliveries — post what you need, set a fair price, get matched with verified workers in your area.
Free to use during launch. Cash payments. No middleman fees.
Built to work on any phone — even on a tight data budget.
Describe the job, share photos, suggest a fair price. Takes under a minute.
Verified workers nearby accept your price or send a counter-offer. You pick.
Live tracking. Photos on completion. Pay cash, then rate each other.
Gardening, cleaning, pool care, pest control
Plumbing, electrical, painting, tiling, carpentry
Bakkie hire, deliveries, queue-standing, grocery runs
Car wash, hair, tutoring, childminding
Every Workit worker is reviewed by a real person before they can accept jobs — by me personally at launch, by a vetting team as we grow.
Every worker submits their SA ID and a short selfie video. We match them — manually at first.
Workers prove where they live and show qualifications or prior work before taking jobs.
Workers can earn a gold badge by submitting a police clearance — filter for it when it matters.
Share a live link with a family member when a worker is on the way to your home.
One tap dials SAPS 10111 from inside the app during any active job.
Both sides review every job. Bad actors don't last long on the platform.

Posted on Sunday night, had three offers by Monday morning. Picked the one with the gold badge — done by Wednesday, fair price.

I've been a plumber for 9 years but struggled to get steady work. Now my Workit phone never stops. Pay is cash, no nonsense.

Live tracking made me comfortable letting a stranger into my yard while I was at work. Photo proof when he finished. Booked him weekly.

Yes — during our Gauteng launch, both posting a job and accepting work are 100% free. No commission, no subscription. We'll introduce a small platform fee later, and you'll know well in advance.
For now, all payments are cash between you and the worker. We keep it simple so you stay in control. In-app payment and escrow are on our roadmap once the marketplace matures.
Every worker has submitted their SA ID, a selfie/liveness video, proof of address and proof of skill — all reviewed by a real person (currently me) before they can take jobs. Workers can also earn a Background Verified gold badge by uploading a police clearance.
Every active job has a one-tap SAPS emergency button, photo evidence at completion, and a two-way rating system. Disputes get reviewed by our team, and bad actors are removed quickly.
Yes. Workit is built mobile-first and is light on data. A WhatsApp interface and a native Android app are on the way for even lower-data users.
Not yet — we want to get one province right before expanding. Sign up anyway and we'll let you know the moment we open in your area.
Tap "I want to work" above. You'll create a profile, upload your ID, a selfie video, proof of address and either a certificate or photos of past work. Approval usually takes 1–2 days during launch.
Whether you cut grass, fix taps, paint walls or run errands — Workit puts you in front of people in your area who need your help. No middleman fees during launch. Cash in hand.
